The first 3 I made were with 1.23 firmware, updated to 1.29 after getting the occasional "unreadable disc" on Gears Of War. No problems since. Probably should use Verbatims but the Memorex's were on a sweet sale even accounting for 1/3 coasters.

Bestbuy has them on sale in 20 packs for $30 this week.  @centax give Verbatim a shot.

working : yes, every one works perfectly using ImgBurn and manually setting booktype

problems: Verifying with DVDXM you can really tell that Verbatims read much quicker and are much higer quality media. The Ritek's are by far the worst! Even worse than cheap cheap Windata..

lessons learned: spend the extra $$ for Verbatim!

On a side note. Initially I couldn't get any of my backups working no matter what brand of disk or which burner I used. The problem lie inside my 47DJ. Because I bought my 360 off a smoker internally it was a mess. I cleaned it all out (Compressed air) then cracked open the drive lid and I cleaned my laser with some rubbing alcohol & a Q-Tip. VOILA!!!! 100% boot rate, and fast loading times. Working flawlessly for 3 months. So if you have dirty disk problems or your successfully modded drive will not boot your successfully burned disks, try cleaning your laser. Also make sure to keep your disks clean.

Working:Transformers, Need For Speed Most Wanted, Need For Speed Carbon, Madden '07, Over G Fighters, and F.E.A.R. All work and no coasters(ever). I have taken every update from Live and every update from games. I am not banned (knock on wood).
I will post results from using these same materials /procedures (as outlined in http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=588763,excellent tutorial by the way ... to see if I can get a few of my Xbox 1 games to work)

Is it just me or do the LG burners not work with the hitachi drive?  I have the GSA-2164D which I don't think was mentioned here but a few other LG drives don't seem to be working.  Time to get the pioneer drive I guess.

Initially I failed miserably with my NEC 2500A and Verbatim discs. Nothing seemed to work. Got the new DVD and it burned great on the first try. Ran out of Verbatims though.

I realise that this thread is pretty old now but I think it's work posting my experiences with this media

DVD Media: Datawrite Titanium 2.4x Double-Layer DVD+R (CMC MAG D03)
DVD Recorder: Slimtype/LiteOn DVDRW SSM-8515S
Xbox360 Drive & FW: BenQ VAD6038 (BenQ iXtreme 1.1)
Burned @ Using: CloneCD @ 2.4x
Working: 9 out of 9

It's also worth mentioning that I did not change the Booktype to DVD-ROM. Burned and working fine with disks set as DVD+R DL. Also I don't know why but the read spead of these disks is very low. Wont go over 4x and generally is lower Not all bad though, makes the BenQ even more quiet.
