ok what do you guys think about me taking my d/l layers that dont work and erasing them and trying different methods? should I keep using fresh discs or try this out... Dont really know if it will effect the booktypes or anything.

tell ya the truth ive never burned dl before... I just figured it says their re writeable so that would make you assume you could. My bad.

PS Im using DVD +R DL but the RW symbol is in the corner... Does that mean these discs arent going to work in the first place?

You are right about RW being able to erase but they don't work in the 360.
RW in the corner you must be using memerex?
Just look for recordable not rewritable. RW means nothing they put it every where now.

No im using verbatim and dynex

So what your saying is Ive been wasting my time and money and need to find dl that dont have the rw.... damn

edit: alright cool hopefully this will work then because Ive used 3 different kinds of discs and spent over 100 $...

EDIT EDIT: Im trying to burn with nero this time. Maybe Ill have better luck.  I made sure that the booktype is set to DVD-ROM and its taking longer on the lead-out which I understand is a good thing? Thats whats supposed to happen?

how do you check the type of disc (as far as manufacture)? Are you using dvdinfotool?

I AM USING D01!?!
my dynex are the same thing.. Read as ritek. And my verbatim read as MTK

Read my last edited post.

I use memorex D01 dye and as long as i download a pre patched game they work great.

Correct on all but i'd use clone cd works best for me.

I can't wait until they really start making samsung drives like they do hitachi ( numbers people numbers not quality )

Your good then

Well I guess Im going to reflash my dvd rom drive with sonys latest drivers again... And then try clone cd again as well since nero didnt make a damn bit of difference
EDIT:
Asus P5N32SLI Watercooled to high hell
Sony DRU-810A with latest Firmware
Memorex Double Layer DVD+R DL 2.4x, 8.5gb, 240min video

Working 100%, Only had 2 bad burns and that was my idiotic fault.

is that memorex the same kind that your using xosux? if so I got the same thing as this guy

btw xosux if its not to much trouble could you post what you get using dvdinfopro for your memorex discs? I just want to make sure that these discs are pretty much the same thing.

I dont want to clog this topic with a bunch of posts but I have a bunch of questions (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Anyways another one for xosux since I can tell you know what your talking about.  You mentioned scene releases. What groups? Just curious as to what yours are patching with. Because I really have a feeling thats my problem.  I dont think these games are getting patched properly.

btw thanks for the info on the dvdinfopro output.

well some or maybe now most scene releases would be pre-patched i'd think. Ripping method is also questionable sometimes specially if the layer break screwes so that could be one explanation since wxripper doesn't tell you anything about it if memory serves me right... i know i've screwed the layer break because of ripping method with 7,5gb movie. ss patcher 1.5 can tell you that info so just for curiosity, check some images with it what it says...
