yup I ran into a hitch again. Idk why Condmend works on both Memorex and TDK (Memorex had to soft reset due to 360 timing out on SS) but Battlefield 2 didnt work on either and Quake 4 didnt work Memorex and Ive patched them all the same. Im keeping them to retest them come monday but it is sligtly agravating and will be more so if they dont work since Ive used up a lot of money on these.
Also, can anyone show me a guide on adjusting the lasers POT IDB. and what the approiate setting should be to allow the most medias to work. Then again I guess it doesnt matter since if it works on DVDs and Some Games its not that...

DVD recorder firmware: 1.41
Recorded speed and soft: 2.4x Clonecd 5.2.9.1

Howcome people are so convinced that the media/burner is to blame?

Think about it, how many other devices have you burnt media for and experienced the issue your having with your 360?

I know i've burnt media and chucked it at just about every DVD Player/DVD Drive which has been around, and has always worked 99% of the time.  Try burning a 1:1 of a dual layer movie onto the same media which you have been putting games on, the 360 can read them perfectly fine even if you skip chapters to the backend of the movie it can read through to the other layer no problem.  When you put a game in it doesnt work at all.  Doesnt that tell you that your burner is fine/media is fine?

Cant believe most people are going around ditching perfectly working drives, when their burns aren't working on only ONE drive, just to get one which seems to work (maybe the laser diode is stronger in them or something i dont know)

but films are only read at 1x if i remember correctly, where as a game will be read at max speed i think. maybe it some problem with how certain dvd writers create the leadin and leadout on the dvd's, i know this can cause problems with certain players.

I agree,it must be something about the SS,cause the 360 does recognize the discs I tried as games, but just wont boot them

Working : YES (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Firmware 47DH and 47D1.1

After persuading the owner of a local game store to open 10 Premium systems (all Hitachi), after waiting for what seems like forever, after going through 6 SATA boards before finally being able to see the drive in Windows, after killing the laser in one of my two systems trying to tweak the pot, after putting my working XBOX back together only to find out 5 minutes later a new 1.1 firmware was out, after taking the XBOX apart again only to find out the 1.1 version made absolutely no difference, after trying one more time with my last blank disc on my sisters Sony DW-Q28A, FINALLY I've played my first working backup (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Can't say it was worth it, but I guess getting there is half the fun (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I should add that I just ran a Disc Quality Check in Nero CD-DVD Speed 4.51.1 / Sony DRU-710A on all three backups;

NEC 3500A - PI errors: Avg 42.06, Max 124. PI failures: Avg 0.10, Max 2
Sony DRU-710A - PI errors: Avg 11.40, Max 159. PI failures: Avg 0.34, Max 99
Sony DW-Q28A - PI errors: Avg 7.60, Max 49. PI failures: Avg 0.09, Max 6
(Lower numbers are better.)

The backup that works (burned on Sony DW-Q28A) is of significantly higher (burn)quality than the ones that don't work. In other words this seems to be purely a matter of burner and media quality. The Hitachi needs *high* quality discs.

I flashed my Hitachi last night and tried all 18 games i had previously burnt for my samsung. Everything that was burnt on purple Ridisc's worked first time and everything burnt on blue Ridisc's and light blue datawrites did not work.
All games were burnt at 2.4X on a pioneer 110D using CloneCD 5.2.8.1.
