In my experience, Verbatims are the way to go, I've coastered maybe 3 out of 100. Memorex have been pretty good to me also, I've coastered maybe 2 or 3 out of 50. hope that helps.

Well I thought reading backups wasn't bad for the laser anyways??? I mean the laser runs at the same power regardless.  I had my xbox1 for about 3 years with my sammy drive, read backups all the time no problems till this day...  Are you saying the laser will go bad quicker with a backup..

Memorex were good dvds.. personally, everything i throw at my xbox gets read.. I just get whats on sale lol..

This time around I have some Phillips 16x dvd-r's.. andthey work good..(IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

RoX0or On!

Whats this about media affecting lazers ?... Since when does that come into factor lol.. If you have a hard time readings discs.. its your drive not the media you throw at it.. i think that a dvd-r is a dvd-r and a thompson drive is not a samsung drive !

yes i agree thompson is not samsung & samsung is not philips but the quality of the media discs you use make a lot of diffrence.

from experience i tell ya media discs quality does affect the laser of your drive, also the speed you burn them in & verbatim is the best media there is to use for burning back ups if you really want best all around performance.

the choice is urs if u wanna use other brands like mirror or ritek...etc all cool all work .

using Memorex since Verbatim is too expensive in my city (Montreal, Canada). Verbatim around $4cdn each, and Memorex only like $1.6cdn each in Bestbuy (15spindle on special)

no coaster so far burnt 7games with LG H10N, but the only thing I wanna concern is that I feel the console has some vibration while the disc reading. Dunno which disc is more stable in reading (less vibration i mean)?

verbatim and memorex are just names...they are not necessarily the makers of the media. use dvdinfo to get the media id to see who actully makes the media for them then head over to cdfreaks and see if that media sucks.

This topic is talking DVD+R DL media with Xbox360 game. There's no xbox360 backup before "few months". Please specify what's not working on Memorex with your burner. What type of DVD disc and what type of data you burnt before few months.

best media but most expensive you can use is Taiyo Yuden

also

use

DVDinfopro to tell us what kind of media that works with the 360. Copy and paste the media code in this thread.

In general all homemade burned discs are bad for your drives. It has something to do with the disc's spinning too close to the laser. I can't remember if its related to the dye that comes on store bought discs or just the way they're manufactured in general.

Sounds like you work for hollywood.

Not saying it not true. Just never heard of a player failing due to it.
