I've used these in the 360 and I must say in hitachi's it sounds like the laser is really trying to read that disc.

if they are RICOHJPN D00 then they are top of the line, right up there with verbs.
but DAMN! thats cheap!

but over all Dl price are going down.... newegg's $30 for 20 is there to stay..!

Uh, you need to read my post a little more carefully.  THESE HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED TO BE FAKES!!!!  If you take a look at the spindle they say made in China.  Ricoh coded media are all made in Taiwan.  Apparently that Ricoh media code is the TYG02 and MCC code of the D/L media world (in otherwords it is the most faked D/L media ID that is currently out there).  No way in hell would I pay over $1 a disc for fakes, regardless of the results.

I see your point jesterrace777 and thanks for the info but it comes down to what works best for me and the playo work better than the verbatims i have used.and i think they are a great disk for the 360 as long as you have a samsung drive,if you have an lg drive well then i dont know if these work.

Well, I won't argue with you on that one although I find it very odd that the Verbatims don't work yet these ones do.  Which burner and firmware revision do you have?

Hmm...mixed results, and not knowing if it's the medias fault or my image ...

I have a Lite-On SOHW-1633PS5

I burned a game, tested in my Samsung and it worked fine.  Had my friend test in his Hitachi v2.1 without the media patch and it works.  So I thought I had found a good deal.

Yesterday, I backed up and burned Madden.  I booted once, got the starting screen...loading...press start.  I pressed start and it locked up.  I tried again, same thing.  Tried again and this time it wouldn't even get past the dash (dirty disk error).  I reburned the same exact image on a new disc and it's working fine.  Image was good, disc was bad.  There's one coaster because of this crappy media.

Today...backed up Forza Motorsport (Xbox 1).  I'm pretty sure image is good, because all data files are showing up in wx360.  I tried burning and it got 100% and says failed  uhh.gif  (I guess on the lead out?)  I put it in the 360 and it plays the Xbox 1 video telling me to put the disc in an Xbox.  Taking a cue from yesterday's weird coaster fiasco, I burned again, same result, failed at the end.  So that's 2 coasters for today using this stuff.

Overall...3 coasters out of the last 5 burns.  I can't be 100% sure my Forza image is ok, but it should still burn, right?  The 2 that weren't coasters work fine though.

I think I'll try one more time with Forza using IMGBurn instead.  I'll report back.  I hope you guys can finally appreciate a more informative post, hope this can help you in your media buying decision.

Yes.  But I think my Forza image is messed up.  Damn reverse layer recording or whatever they call it.  My layer 0 was smaller than my layer 1.  I'm sure you know what that means, but others might not.  Basically, on a DL disc, it writes layer 0 from inside ring to outer area of disc, then it writes layer 1 from outside back in towards the center.  Now imagine if layer1 is bigger than layer 0.  You're going "in" on the disc more than you can.  Like overburning, but backwards.  Not good.  Wish CloneCD would have given me a warning, it didn't.  IMGBurn did.  So that is most likely the reason for my Forza coasters, but the Madden thing is 100% Playo's fault.

I'm sure you will correct me if I'm wrong. smile.gif

Nah, the burn software could easily be the issue here.
