Tutorial: Using Imgburn/dvd Decrypter To Burn Backups
« Reply #90 on: December 30, 2006, 05:32:00 PM »

Hi!

I have a big problem.

I tried to do what you say, but the program says me that it can“t use layer break with a DL media and DAO write type.... something like that. I tried to continue whatever... but now my Xbox is recognizing the game as a normal DVD-ROM.. then a small movie says me: "You need to run this DVD on a Xbox".

Can i do something to make it works? If possible.. with this DL that i burn... can I?

I explain.. here in Brazil this type of DVD is very expensive...
I paid something like US$ 5,9 dollars here... =/

Thanks a lot!

im getting very tierd of using clonecd because i continue to get unplayable disc error in my xbox, SO i want to use imgburn. So with the new version i don't have to set the layer breaks? i can just browse for the img and burn right, without using the dvd file?? Thanks for any help you can offer guys.

Ok im tierd of using Clonecd, and i wanna use imgburn. i have the dvdfile and img file. In imgburn which one do i burn? I've heard with the new imgburn you don't have to set the layer break, is this true? Also i haven't burned one yet but when i load the dvdfile it shows the size of 7,------ and when i load the img file for burn it shows the same size, so im just trying to figure out which to burn? thanks guys

I would set it just like the pictures above show. Then just load your iso file. Thats what I have been doing and it works flawless. Make sure booktype is set to DVD-ROM and burn at 4X.

Hi all,
I need your help....

I am getting the following message when trying to burn backup using DVD+R DL media (Verbatim)
I have set the booktype to DVD-ROM using the liteon tab...(There isn't one for SONY) and this is the only one that seemed to give me the option to change it.

DeviceIoControl(FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME)Failed!
Device:[5:0:0]SONY DVD RW DW-D22A BYS3 (E:)(ATA)
Unable to lock volume for exclusive access.

Reason:Access is denied.

Your help would be greatly appreciated....
Many thanks in advance....

You may need to reflash your Sony drive with one of the Lite-On booktype setting firmwares (This is of course assuming that your particular model happens to be a Sony and not a Benq, which some Sony models are).

to add to jester comment,
I believe it is a liteon 1633 capable of DL at 2.4X with liteon fw.
You need to do some homework (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) here before you crossflash your drive.

Hello, i had the rotten luck that when i bought my computer it had a DVD rw dl - only burner installed.

was just wondering is it possible to make imgburner burn a backup of a xbox 360 game on a DVD-r DL disc.

Iwe tried several times. where i got the msg's that the sector was wrong for a - disc, then i tried to turn on

layer jump recorder, then it burnt like 20% and made an I/o error

Much easier to replace your burner than to try to get D/L DVD-R to work.  I believe with the latest firmware that the 360 Samsung drives can read D/L DVD-R but there is a little bit of an extra process to get it to work right.  No chance on the Hitachi drives I'm afraid.

You are wasting your time as the only reason why it works with the Sammy is due to a recent firmware update.  So unless you know how to program firmware it isn't going to happen.  As for PAL/NTSC compatibility it isn't like the original XBOX, only certain games will work on both format systems on the 360.  Here is the best compatibility list that I have found.

@konartist911

Created a topic for your issue, it was not specific to imgburn anymore.
