i think that was the same error i got when i clicked burn. i turned dvdinfo pro off, then just made sure my bitsettings were set to dvd-rom in nero and in imgburn, then it worked and the dvd worked great in my newly flashed 360  biggrin.gif

Hi, I'm new here and I had a quick question. I have the latest version of IMGBurn and my burner is a Sony DVD RW DW-Q30A. When I go to change the booktype, there is no option for Sony but I ran through all of them trying to change it to DVD-ROM and finally I got it to change with Lite-ON and it said success. Would it work? I don't want any coasters... tongue.gif

Sony drives are just rebadged... many are lite-on drives. I am sure you can find what your drive really is by searching on google.

When using the Schtrom extracting method should i still choose the image1.000 file or the image1.dvd to burn with imgburn?

Thanks

the .dvd file just holds layerbreak info.... you need to set the layerbreak for the disc to work... if you set it manually in the program then you do not need the .dvd file, if you want it automatic, then use the .dvd file

Let's start off with a short introduction and then we'll get right into things. First there's the reason of WHY you should use this over CloneCD.
  • Well, CloneCD isn't free, this program is, that should be a major reason for most people.
  • Also this program is compatible with alot more burners than CloneCD, I know I had two burners that both would not work with the latest version of CloneCD.
  • Finally, once you set up this program you will be able to burn backups just as fast as CloneCD (just load the IMAGE.000 file). Also this program supports queueing several images to burn one after the other, a neat feature if you can make use of it.
Alright, now let's get down to how to use this thing! BTW ImgBurn is very similiar to DVD Decrypter, the only difference being ImgBurn is still being developed while DVD Decrypter is not. As such, you should upgrade to ImgBurn if you are still using DVD Decrypter. If not, the DVD Decrypter instructions are very similiar to those found here.
ImgBurn Backup Burning Tutorial

If you have done this before and have left the User Specified layer break setting the same, then you can skip to step #4
  1. Download ImgBurn
  2. Launch the program and using the menu at the top go to: "Tools -> Settings"
    IPB Image
  3. Go to the "Write" tab and under the "Options" section on the right hand side select the radio button labeled "User Specified" under the "Layer Break (For DL Media)" section. Now in the textbox next to the words "Sectors in L0:" enter the value: "1913760" (without quotes of course).
    IPB Image
  4. [You can start here in the future!] Open your IMAGE.000 or whatever you labeled your backup using the "Browse" button. Next to the text "Files of type" use the drop down menu and select "All Files (*.*)". You should now be able to select your backup image file.
    IPB Image

If you recieve the following error
    IPB Image
Then you have most likely made an incorrect image. Try remaking the SS.bin and reapplying that as it may cause problems. IF YOU ARE SURE that you have correctly made your backup, you can use this tool to get ImgBurn to detect your ISO. For an explanation of what the tool does and how to use it view the Readme.txt inside the zip.
  5. Set your burn speed to 2.4x and click the large burn button. Sit back and wait for the backup to burn.
    IPB Image
  6. OPTIONAL: You can go back to "Tools -> Settings" and then back to the "Write" tab and set the "Layer Break" option back to "Calculate Optimal" if you are going to be using ImgBurn to burn other dual layer images that are NOT Xbox 360 backups. If you are only gonna be burning dual layer Xbox 360 backups, you can leave it to the setting before and resume at step #4 the next time you wanna burn a backup.
For convenience, I have decided also to paste the readme.txt from the iso fix tool here:
Hope this helps!

Will it be a problem if both the layer break info in settings is changed to manual with the proper entry, AND still opening the .dvd file which already has layer break info?

So far thats what my settings are, the burns work great. IMGburn seems like a more solid program.

Well I just found out my own question. I reread the thread, and its not needed to change the settings with the latest version of IMGburn and if you open up the .dvd file!

I 19:17:34 Optimal L0 Data Zone Capacity: 1,913,760
I 19:17:34 Optimal L0 Data Zone Method: Copied From Original Disc

Above is the settings at default (select optimal) BUT opening .dvd file with the layer break info on it.

Great, now I can remove clonecd, I really dislike that program, but its just personal preference.

Great tut, a real big help for me!!   Just wanna to add my 2 cents.  First the files didn't work for me at all, no matter what i did.  Then  i realized they were running off of my external HD where i keep all my backups.  So, after transfering 1 of my backups to my c drive with the tool, it worked great
