What media are you using? Also, in DVD Decrypter, load the actual image file, like IMAGE.000 instead of the .DVD file. Unless you renamed the IMAGE.000 to IMAGE.DVD for some unknown reason. If it's your media, get some Verbatim's, they work well. The Fuji/Ritek have given some people problems.

All those writing errors that I've read here are all the cause of the drive and or the media people are using.

I've owned myself another writer and all media is burning well. ( Pioneer D111 )

Before that, ive used 2 other burners: BENQ 1640 and BENQ 1650
Both stopped writing somewhere on the disc. They stop buring with the error Can't write to Beng XXX

Tried different media: Imation, Samsung. Then I tried Verbatim. The writing completed but it wasn't recognised by my 360.
Then I bought a Pioneer D111 and all 3 brands are burning well and are extremely good recognised by the Hitachi drive.

If you wan't to be sure, try Verbatim. If they do not burn well, buy another writer. If they burn well but aren't recognised, buy another writer.

When you try, don't use higher speeds than the slowest speed the disc supports. Also be sure you're using the lates firmware for your writer.

No microsoft is SO STUPID, they left it open to play burned games without ANY type of modding, ISn't that so fucking cool... biggrin.gif

NOTE: DO SOME READING, this by far one of the dumbest questions that gets asked here EVERYDAY.

I need some help... I don't have 000.dvd in the file this is what i have in that file

LayerBreak=1913760
Project Gotham Racing 3.iso

as you can see I"m trying to make a back up of my PGR3.  is "Project Gotham Racing 3.iso" the same as 000.dvd?

Also with the layer break inserted into dvd decrypter, when I try to burn it it says something about L0 or L1 not having space so i clicked on the tab to do it automatically (default settings) and it let's me burn it.  Any thoughts?

Hi all.

Like many others i have a bit of a problem.

here's the story:

I dont own a dvd burner but my friend does, so what im doing is getting backups to the games i own         and putting them on a portable hard drive, then taking them to his house.
I downloaded a backup of one of my purchased games and got it to my friends house, followed this tutorial to the letter ( clone cd just doesnt work ) and at 27% burning i got this - E 20:05:49 Reason: The semaphore timeout period has expired.

Have no clue what this means and needless to say i now have a dual layer coaster he he.

It was burning from the portable hard drive if that makes a difference.

i have a hitachi drive on the 360, not sure about manufacturer of dvd burner ( its really new ) and using Verbatim cd's

----

So thats my problem, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas please let me know, i have a 2nd backup now also but not willing to make too many coasters on them.
Maybee its because i left it on the portable..... dont know..... hopefully one of you guys will.

*edit* just thought, if it might help, my friend has a spare IDE thingy ( technical term tongue.gif ) so i can plug the portable in as a regular hard drive...... i dont know but im presuming IDE is faster than USB 2.0 ..... maybee that was my problem .... im going to shut up now lol *edit*

Thanks in advance

I also get the The semaphore timeout period has expired problem.

I have a laptop, and an external pioneer 111d burner (its an internal burner with external caddy.
it is connected to laptop thru USB 2.0
the burner works cos used it externally on PC burning at 1 times speed(onlu usb1) , tried 2.4 times on laptop but kept saying that above error - semaphore timeout, but did complete the burn - the timeout error came after each "segment" was written.
I coasted 2 discs, then realised I hadnt done the layer break bit in dvd decrypter (i had done it on the PC but forgot on the laptop) would this cause the problem? i have no more discs to test with!
but i need this to work, as it is gonna be the decider between cheap and expensive internet.
please help.

Do you absolutely have to remove the layerbreak text? I have used CloneCD before and the ISO I have is absolutely ready to burn...I have the dvd file and the iso file, so do I remove the layerbreak text?
