correct me if I'm wrong, I have a Pioneer 108 (not DX) and if I understand how it works, it automatically bitsets  DL media to dvd-rom, can anyone confirm this?

to all pioneer dvr-108 owners:

If your drive is not a pio data dvr-108DX you'll want to flash it w/ Gradius' firmware which will Convert a Pioneer DVR-A08/108 into a true Pioneer DVR-108DX/DVR-A08DX (Dual format DVD-/+ Burner).

This because the pioneer  108 doesn't support bitsetting, but Pioneer DVR-108DX/DVR-A08DX does....look for it @ http://forum.rpc1.org/

Oke I've done this, but the latest version of CloneCD gives me an error and ejects the disc. The error message is: "Writing to _NEC DVD_RW ND2510A failed!"

How to continue burning this image?

Thanks, DeaL

Not sure it's a bad image. I had a NEC 4570 available, so now I'm trying it with this burner and atleast CloneCD is burning at the moment.

Is possible to edit my earlier message because the NEC ND2500 and NEC ND2510 DO NOT work!!

I think it's a good idea to start creating a list of DVD burners that are supported.

Regards, DeaL

Hmmz strange! I've just burned this image and when I boot it, it says "The disc in unreadable."

Could it be a media problem? I'm using Platinum DVD's.

Thanks, DeaL

Find a hacked firmware for that too.. lol. Your other option is to get another burner that is booktype friendly.

pioneers are not booktype friendly. I had this hassle with GT4 and my PS2. I got the 108 and flashed it to a PIODATA and it automatically sets to the DVD-ROM bookset. I am not sure whats available for the 109 but look around. Pioneers are very nice drives when they are setup correctly.
