Ok so i have a friends xbox and i have had it for about 3 months have been trying to fix it for a while... anyways when he gave it to me the tray would open everytime you closed it.. fixed it.. so when i tried to play games like halo 3 halo 3 odst and odst live cd neither will load they stick after a loading screen, GTA IV will play but has crappy textures.. ghost recon advanced warfighter1 will stick at the menu... i have replaced the dvd lense, soaked the board in alcohol, and heat gunned the ana chip. my next guess is the dvd drive is screwed or the gpu is overheating. should i try to do a xclamp removal? it doesnt overheat to the point where it double red lights.
tv is a sony 42" 1080p whatever the new one is (freaking best tv by the way)
tried 2 av cords on high def and normal. and a different tv.
im guessing i should try a new sata cable, heat gun the whole board, and if all else replace the dvd drive but i dont want to go out on the limb replacing the drive if its not the problem. has anyone had this problem?
