My console had no issues with audio, then I inserted NCAA Football 2008, and it said an update was required. I said ok, installed the update and now have no audio. I have searched and searched on this issue, and have tried:
1) different av cord and even hdmi, neither fix it.
2) removing hard drive, rebooting, popping in hard drive after rebooted thus forcing restart, no fix.
3) holding in sync while rebooting, no fix.
4) clearing hard drive cache, no fix.
and finally I reflowed the Hana chip, GPU and CPU and then placed in oven at 170F for 90 minutes, no fix (didn't figure it just decided to quit right after the update anyway, so no surprise there). Also, the A/V connector on the mobo appears fine. It has to be something with that update, but what else can I do?
As far as I know I have the most up to date dashboard, 2.0.8955.0
Can anyone please give me some advise? This box works fine other than no audio.
I am posting on multiple sites trying to find an answer, no luck yet.
