Rrod Hybrid Fix, No Audio
« on: September 11, 2009, 05:34:00 AM »

I had a RROD console which I repaired, usual way, heatgun followed by HYBRID x-clamp fix,all fairly routine stuff; fixed loads of 360's in this way, no problems. But when I booted the console, it doesn't have any sound, whether it's a game, streaming music or watching a DVD. It's working fine otherwise...It's hooked up using standard composite av cables, not HDMI.

Any ideas?

And yes, I checked the av cables and they are working fine.

This seems to be a problem that I cannot find an answer to beyond the lame 'Try swapping the av cables'  rolleyes.gif

I still have a working xbox with no audio... sad.gif

So I've repaired another 360, (error code 0022) only to find on boot up it has no audio either.

This surely cannot be a rare problem....any ideas, anyone? Please??  huh.gif

Bump!

I've still got no sound on this 360...it's still working fine otherwise.  uhh.gif

Anyone know anything about loss of audio? It's not the cables coz other 360's have sound...  uhh.gif

Is there any crackling noise coming out of the speakers, or is it simply silence?

Some people voided their warranty just to see the insides of the console and have lost sound, either HDMI or any other AV pack.

Trying to shed some light while awaiting a Pro answer..

If you can change the cable, and there's still no sound, I reckon it's something after moving/breaking. If you try HDMI and you don't get sound, it must be whatever it's running into. AV audio, and HDMI audio are coming from seperate sources as far as I know (optical audio is again different).

Try rule everything out: sockets, cables, plugs, hifi/speakers. Sorry I can't give more detailed help, but it's hard to know without being there..

Not to hijack this thread or something, Im trying to fix it

Im rulling out everything, yes I found out that analogue, HDMI audio and optical audio have different
PINS. but different SOURCE(sound circuitry) I dont know!
