Vga Ghosting

Is it just my VGA cable from china that causes slight shadows of colors to the right of things on screen? It becomes much more annoying on my 20" LCD VGA monitor then a 17" CRT monitor. Also, when using HDMI and the cable for analog audio, it seemed to have better directional audio, am I just hearing things? I use headphones and computer speakers to amplify while on the go, and an amplifier while at home.
