Display Setings For Xbox 360 On My Monitor
« on: February 13, 2009, 07:43:00 PM »

The 2200WM has 1680x1050 native resolution, so that is what you should set the XBOX to use.

There will be black bars top and bottom because 1680x1050 is 16:10 and the XBOX always uses 16:9 for widescreen output.

yeah apparently I needed new xbox 360 update to see these res options. but the black bars look pretty bad and the difference is unnoticeable.

Are you using a genuine Microsoft VGA cable? Some of the third party cables are quite bad.

No, it will look exactly the same, or possibly worse, or there could potentially be some lag introduced as a result. Use the M$ VGA cables, and set it to 1680x1050, and deal with the black bars being there. Sure you might think they're annoying, but they're making your monitor display the image properly.
