5.1 Through 3.5 Mm Jacks?

Hey guys, i have a 5.1 system connected to my computer it uses 3.5mm jacks, is there anyway i can connect the xbox to the surround sound? even if i have to connect the optical to my computer then some how play that through the sorround sound connected to the pc.

If your soundcard has S/PDIF input, then that's the way to go. If it only has 3.5mm input jacks, then you can't get 5.1 from your 360.

Hey biggrin.gif, thanks for the reply i have the stricker extreme motherboard and i know it has s/pdif onboard but i dont know much about it, how would i conenct that to the 360?

ahh i just relised that it has an optical connection aswell, i thought it was only coaxial tongue.gif, it seems to only be input though sad.gif

Input = what you want. You want to take the 360's optical output and go to your soundcard's input, and from there to your speakers.
