What Resolution Am I In?
« on: May 26, 2008, 01:06:00 PM »

I have a Panasonic TH-42PX600U (http://reviews.cnet....7-31890449.html), that only goes up to 1080i, according to Cnet.  I'm plugged in via HDMI, and when I go to select my resolution, 1080p is available, I can pick it, and it works fine- it even says my current setting is 1080p.

What resolution am I playing in, then?

Most monitors LCD or plasma monitors will let you choose a resolution above what it can handle, and just downscale the image. Your TV is displaying 1024x768 widescreen, so you should choose the same resolution on your 360, it'll give you your very best picture. I can choose 1920x1080 (or 1080p) on my PC monitor, which only actually goes up to 1680x1050.
