I too HAD this problem on my BenQ machine that is flashed. I did not want to send it to M$ since it is flashed and they probably would not do anything with it. Since there are the new Lite-On drives that cannot be flashed I didn't want to buy a new one either. I found a real electrian that  fixes all types of problems on 360s and other electonics. For $70 I got it fixed and that includes the shipping and handling. It only took 7 days from the time I sent it out to be back at my house. I found them by looking on EBAY for service repair. I could not have been any happier with the outcome because I really did not think it would ever work again. I am in no way related to or work for them either. I am not advertising for them, I just want to pass this along if anyone is having the same problem and their system has been flashed.

That site gave me numerous trojan warnings when i went to it and i dont know what quality work can be done for $70 shipping included.  I wouldn't be surprised if they just towel tricked it.
