HDMI gives the best picture and sound quality. The 360 can't run in 1680x1050, but it can run in 1360x768 (not 1366). Hook it up to your TV with HDMI and run it in 1360x768, this will give you 1:1 pixel mapping, and your best picture.

Please correct me if I'm wrong isn't a HDMI just an all in one component cable? I haven't really compared the two side by side but I am using components and it looks pretty sharp on my HDTV! smile.gif

its more than an all in one cable. it sends a digital signal which is superior in quality than an analog picture. HDMi will improve over a component picture in many ways.

i used to think using my xbox 360 over composite looked clear and sharp, but once i ventured into HDMi, i could clearly see the improvements. now when i use component video, it looks like utter crap and i just cant stand using it. component looks like it has a blur effect

Probably not, but I would be very happy if they would do so.

Next time first read the pinned topics, then if you have anymore questions then ask.  Most all of what you have asked is answered there.
