How To Connect 360 To Computer And Lcd Monitor?
« on: January 17, 2008, 10:52:00 PM »

There are several topics near the top of this forum that explain how. Use your HDMI-DVI cable for the video, take off the plastic casing from a standard "Xbox 360 A/V cable", cut the video wires off (or pull them out, so you don't create any unnecessary shorts), short the video output, and voila - sound from teh A/V port, and video from the HDMI port. Alternatively, you can also just use a VGA cable, which has RCA audio cables and optical output as well.

... Well microsoft people are idiots, they put the hdmi port in a way that you can't use it if the other plug is in.

you misspelled "greedy"

what they did there was intentional to force the less creative among us to buy the "official" (read: overpriced) HDMI cable that comes with a thinner audio break out box instead of a generic HDMI cable with the AV cable we already have for sound.

Dude, read the link - 200w RMS/400w peak - that's f****ing absurd! I think my 2.1 Altec Lansing set may be 30w too (I forget the model number - 2 thin satellite speakers, pretty big subwoofer, dark gray/charcoal color), and they sound pretty loud at maybe 1/4-1/3 volume. I can't imagine ever needing that much sound from a PC, unless you use your computer as a stereo system for a pretty big room or something.

watts doesnt convert to how many Db's it will produce.

400W is not alot for a PC speaker setup. alot of people use there PC to play there music as its all stored in the one place, also good for gaming
