Xbox Takes A Minute To Start Up

i just bought a new H3 xbox360 and it turned on swiftly the first time i turned it on but now when i turn it on it takes 30 seconds sometimes a few minutes before the 360 logo screen appears. So its not that im gettin no video, its like the 360 is taking a while to boot up, even though its on.

I looked around but havent seen anything else like this. Anyone have any ideas?

Are you using HDMI? if so, it may just be taking a while to do the handshake. Try turning the xbox on before the TV or vice versa

No i was using VGA cable. Oddly i changed startup to dashboard and it hasnt done it anymore. It was taking nearly 2 minutes with or without a game in the system.

just an update for anyone that may search this in the future.

it still occurs, takes anywhere from 15 seconds to 2 minutes to boot up. I have just learned to deal with it.

This never occurred with my previous xbox with the same setup.

Do you still have another 360 you can try the same VGA cable with?  If the problem goes away with a different console on the same cable, I'd take the new one back while you still can.  It's not something you should have to live with, and it might just get worse.

Yea my old one didnt do it. Its def the box, but I didnt buy it from the store... so I cant exactly take it back. Seems to not have any other problems and ill just send it into MS if anything ever does occur.
