Lcd Monitor Or Tv For Under $350
« on: August 21, 2007, 10:41:00 PM »

I'm looking to purchase a new display for my xbox 360 and I want it to have at least 720p. I also don't want the picture stretched for distorted with a 16:10 display. I'm hoping for atleast a 22" display.

I have found a couple and I need your input on if they are any good and will work with the Xbox 360.

Sceptre X23gv-Komodo 23"

Acer X241Wsd 24"

SCEPTRE X22WG-1080p Black 22"

Any of these- newegg link

Thanks!

If you know of any others be sure to let me know! If you have pictures of xbox 360 running on displays 22" and up be sure to post them!

IPB Image

But that one was 500 bucks  happy.gif  1900x1200 res max but i got my 360 doin 1366x768 (something like that) cause thats really close to th 16:10 ratio.  wink.gif  5ms response time as well.

Lets hope ms adds 16:10 support in the future!

I was going to get the 24 inch acer but decided on the samsung because the samsung had a 3000:1 contrast ratio while the acer only had a 1000:1

The first one on the list has a response time of 8ms (bleh) and a contrast ratio of 700:1 (more bleh) i wouldnt get it if i were you.

The third one down would be fine for the 360 at 720p, and it has a 2ms response time (wow!) which is really nice. But i don't really believe it actually supports 1080p because the price, response time, and monitor size itself don't support that statement. I think it just uses a scaler, hence the one guys statement 1920x1080 looks a little blurry.

Edit: I should mention that the samsung is a 24 inch monitor as well

1366x768 is very very close to the 16:10 ratio, so the image looks fine

16/10=1.6
1366/768-1.66

as you can see, only .06 off

I cannot see any image distortion and all of my super jealous friends haven't pointed out any image flaws.  wink.gif   laugh.gif

And to answer your question, the image looks AWESOME on my screen.

Awesome! I think I found my match, I'm getting the Acer X241Wsd 24" or the Westinghouse L2410NM 24". I haven't found any reviews on the acer but everyone seems to like the Westhinghouse.

The only difference is the Acer is 5ms and Westinghouse is 8ms response time and has a lot more ports.

I'm glad someone actually responed to my thread! Thanks!

Some people see things differently, so i don't know about you. At 8ms i can see slight ghosting of the image, so i personally wouldn't get an 8ms monitor because it would tick me off trying to watch anything.

All i use my monitor for is my computer and my xbox, so i only needed two inputs (its also quite nice to just push a button and it switches between computer and xbox just like that). I don't know what you are planning on doing with your monitor, but keep in mind that its always about compromise. It's usually hard to find a monitor that has it all (without shelling out a lot of cash).

Like i said before, i would go with the Acer, but it is up to you to decide which one is better for your setup.

I'm also surprised as to why more people haven't replied to voice their opinions  huh.gif

The 360 supports 1280*768, which is 16x10......THe OP stated he did not want 16x10, then he posts links to several 16x10 PC monitors? All 20-22" pc monitors are going to be 1680*1050, if you want just 720p you should be looking for a TV, not a monitor.
