You need a VGA cable for video, and it does look like your mobo has an spdif optical input on it, so you should be able to run 5.1 from your VGA cables optical into that to get 5.1 (I am not 100% sure that your mobo will pass it through as 5.1, it may down-mix to 2 ch stereo) That should be all you need to git-r-done!

if you get a VGA cable you'll be able to hook your console directly to your monitor... If you spent a few extra dollars on a surround sound system that accepts Optical/Toslink SPDIF then you would be able to do the same for the audio as well.

those speakers do no include a decoder, which means you'll either have to use your PC as a decoder to get 5.1 or if you plug in directly you'll only get stereo. Running through your PC like that you'll probably get screwy sound too (that's not what your PC is designed to do).

honestly there are literally HUNDREDS of speaker systems available that offer optical inputs a the price you're paying for those speakers you linked there's no reason not to buy one.

Nice board. I have on myself biggrin.gif Excellent overclocker, toss in an E6600 and you're in business.

As another user said though you will only be able to get 2 channel audio using the input on your motherboard.

Yeah I plan on OCing it.  I got a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 with a ZALMAN 9700 fan.

Alright, so I can live with 2-channel audio for my Xbox 360, as I have been here at home too.  But, since my MoBo does have a SPDIF input, should I buy a TOSlink cable as well as the VGA HD cables, only use the TOSlink cable instead of plugging part of the VGA cable (red, white or yellow - I don't know which is the audio)?

Thanks a lot guys,
