Hd-dvd To Pc To Hdtv?
« on: August 07, 2007, 02:31:00 PM »

Hello.

I currently have a Sharp 46" Aquas 62U LCD TV with 2-HDMI inputs that support 1080P.
My PC is AMD X2 4400, 1 gig RAM, A8N-SLI Premium, 2-7600GS video cards in SLI.

I want to but the addon HD-DVD drive and plays HD movies from my PC to my TV.

My questions:

1.  Can I output 1080P from my PC to my 1080P TV?

2.  Will my current PC setup work?

3.  I have an DVI-To HDMI cable with I be able to use this?

4.  Would a simple purchase of Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512MB, HDCP, HDMI converter work better or at all with my current setup?

5.  Would this new PC handle the job if my current one doesnt?

ok thanks.  I'll check on my cards to see if they are HDCP.  I can't remember.  Would the drivers in my computer display any of that or would I have to download the manual from the manuf. site?

Just an update.

I have successfully installed the xbox 360 HD-DVD addon for my PC running Windows SP SP2, with PowerDVD Ultra and AnyDVD HD.

I'm running AMD X2 4400 Socket 939 on A8N-SLI Premium MOB, 1 GIG PC3200 Generic RAM, 1-EVGA 7600 GS 256MB and 1-Asus 7600 GTS 256 running in SLI.

I can output the an HD movie onto my Sharp 46" LCD 62U at 1080P using a DVI to HDMI cable.

I tested King Kong and it runs farely smooth but if you are looking to buy go higher on the v-card and CPU.

The HD-DVD addon is great, time to go to zip.ca to start renting HD moves.
