So this is what happens.. I start my xbox and at the xbox logo the actual logo has these flashing dots all over it. So it goes to the menu and these dots are not there, no problem here. However when I put FIFA 07 and  these small black dots flash on a lot of graphics, (Shadows, sky, usually lighter textures). i put a dvd movie in and i see white dots in the center of the screen! However I have no idea what the problem is here. i'm not sure if i should buy a new video cable, but... what would that have to do with these dots?

The Problem started when i was watching a movie for 3 hours, then these weird white dots appeared in the screen.

My Console Never Froze.
No ERROR codes.
No 3 red lights.

i tried updating the dashboard but it didn't work.
and i can't send it to Microsoft because my console is out of warranty...

How can i fix this? unsure.gif

your GPU is toast... that's the short and the long of it.

your GPU can fry without a 3RLoD error and you get screwed up graphics like you're describing.

you can try the X-clamp replacement as a last ditch effort but most likely you'll be looking at getting a new box.

if it's still under waranty send it in.

Ive got allmost the exact same thing on my box, difference is that it boots up fine, but when I try and play Halo2, it will stutter, graphic glitch, the halo logo takes a couple of minutes to load and then finally, when at the log in screen for multiplayer, I have 2/3 of my screen covered in graphic artifacts, cant join a XBL session or even play single player campaign.

I have 3 copies of Halo2, all PERFECT condition, same results, I get some graphic glitches in other games, but they seem to be 90% playable.

About 3 weeks ago, I got the 3 red rings of death, noticed my system was VERY hot,  shut down the system, turned it back on and it has been fine up untill last night.

Luckily, I bought mine at launch at Samsclub, they kept my receipt in thier computer system and will exchange it for a new system.

Bottomline, dont let your 360 overheat. bad things happen.

Good luck to you.

So have you figured out the fix yet? I hope you haven't cracked it open. You should be able to get MS to fix it now with their extended warranty. I know you haven't gotten the lights yet, but it is still a hardware failure.

the only place to get another ana chip is from another Xbox 360 mobo. you'll also need to find a repair person with a hot-air-rework station to remove bot chips and install the new one.

That labor charge for installation alone can be expensive nevermind finding a chip.

Do the X clamp replacement FIRST and if that doesn't help then try to determine if it's worth dumping money into replacing the ana chip.

Tried Home Depot?  Local mom and pop shop?  Lots of places have them, you dont need the specific brand, just the right size...
