Exactly the same thing happened to mine, Mine is currently being repaired, Hopefully it can be repaired, The problem is due to the heat and x-clamps causing the board to warp and damaging the SMD capacitors, Soon has i get word that mine has been repaired successfully i'll post here.

I think you're right about the heat. I have this exact problem, but were able to temporarily fix it by having it run for an hour. After that hour, the picture came back although now Im limited to 480p (hence why I call it a  "temporary" fix).

I called MS and they agreed to fix it although the warranty was up, so here's hoping they dont mess it up.
I havent voided the warranty btw.

Hey Guys,

I did not do the xclamp mob like I siad I was going to do but I did the "towel" mod but I used about four sheets of tissue paper (the ones you put in gifts) folded to block the fans. after about 30 mins I heard a snap and the 2 red lights showed up, Shut it off let it cool and when I powered it up the video was there.

I ll let you guys know if it holds up.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I had the same problem.  My colors started looking very weird.  Kinda like when you change the colors on you computer desktop to a small setting like 256.  Coloring looked blocky.  I could power my Xbox off and back on and the problem went away, until yesterday.  When I powered it off and back on I had no picture at all, only sound.  I had wierd purple jagged lines sometimes and just moving white blocks other times.  I tried everything.  Changing cables, changing televisions, changing resolutions.  Then I tried the towel trick.  I covered my Xbox in towels and left the power on until it overheated (two flashing red lights).  After letting it cool down for about five minutes, everything was perfect again.  I don't know why it worked, but it did. biggrin.gif

It probably worked because the PCB unwarped itself.
