are you using digital or analog audio output?

what audio format is your receiver set to?

if you're using the analog connection then there is no setting on the TV... so that would not be your problem (which is why I asked).

I'd suggest the usual run down check list
-plug the audio output into some other device, a portable set of speaker or something other than the TV... If the sound still exists it's not your TV

-Get a different AV cable (borrow from a friend or something) and use that with your TV and with your alternative device, if the sound still exists then it's your console  sad.gif

Thanks for the help, it sadly is the xbox. Also sadly it's about two months out of warranty. On the bright side it's my friends 360. Mine thankfully is running just fine.  love.gif

It still is odd, it only does this with gears of war and then only on campaign mode.


have you tried using another copy of the game? maybe rent Gears from the store and try that disc to see if the problem still exists... it could be the disc if it's only doing it in one game.

I was told it also does it on CoD3. But I'll tell him.
