Rumor: ANA/HANA Chip is no Hardware Scaler Chip - Upscaling by Xenos?

I noticed no performance hits when playing games upscaled to 1080p (when I had a 360)

If it is xenos doing the job, it certainly is much better in that respect than the RSX is (960x1080.....bleh!!!)

christ, why would they put a scaler chip on the xbox when they have a GPU that can do this without any performance loss. The original Xbox GPU can even do AA scaling (ie rendering to huge backbuffer wich is then scaled down when moved to frontbufer).

It would be totally pointless in putting a separate scaler on the 360. Total waste of money. Oh and no the gpu is not very likely doing lancos resize, bicubic, linear or ansiotropic sounds more likely.
