you can choose what resolution you want it to display in on the 360 weither it be 480, 720 or 1080.

although its strange that your tv cannot do 720p...  might want to look into that.

Don't waste your money on the new HDMI  360 your Tv does not have a HDMI input according to the spec (Unless they missed that out) Connect the 360 via component and set it to 720P. make sure you have selected progressive scan on the TV menu settings as well.

I have an old Phillips Tube HDTV... it does the some thing.

I am hooked up by component and have the Xbox 360 set to 1080i.

Setting the Xbox to 720P does not work. Screen fuzzes and then goes black.

Setting the Xbox to 480P does work.

You dont have to change anything on the TV itself.  Just in the Xbox settings.

Ok, chancer, I tried every possible option on my tv for it to be enabled 720 p, but there is nothing. It can't do 720p.... Is it becuase I connect it to the #1 component and instead of #2, I really don't now, and I am pissed off because people claim 720 p is better.

Changing from #1 to #2 would make no difference. According to you owners manual it should accept 720p just fine. Call Samsung customer support and tell them, maybe its borked.....
