Trying To Get 1080i Via Vga
« on: March 16, 2007, 03:15:00 PM »

The hard drive isn't required for 1080i and shouldnt be for updates either. Although i heard on some other forum that you need a premium 360, or a hard drive, to use the HD DVD drive, but as it was another forum and not XS i dont know how trusted that is.

yeah i dont believe any of that. i have heard of a lot of other people having problems with 1080i via vga. try the next lowest resolution and see how it displays

If you really want to run in 1080i then use a component video connection.

but even if you did, it would just scale it back down anyway

For starters, you can't do 1080i over VGA. VGA supports progressive resolutions only.  1080P should be the highest selectable resolution.  However, your plasma panel is 1,366x768 native which is also the maximum resolution it supports over VGA .  Set the 360 output to 1,366x768 and you'll be fine.  If you really want to run in 1080i then use a component video connection.

The 360 will only do 1360x768, unfortunetly there isn't a setting for 1366x768.

So? its 6 pixels off its better than trying a resolution that is way to big for the screen and then scaling it down.
