Hi-def Sound = Nonexistent

be more specific....

the xbox has either composite (yellow, red, white) or component (red/white and blue, green, somethingelse)

component uses the same stereo audio cables (red/white) as composite.  the component video is the three different video cables (blue, green, somethingelse).

so in th eback of your tv u need to take the component cables and plug them in, and take the red/white audio cables and plug them into the corresponding audio port that go along with the component input channel of your tv.  if you are using optical cable it wont work because the tv only has optical OUT... to send audio out to speakers.  the tv speakers will not work if you use an optical cable because the signal is being fed OUT not into them.  this will hopefully clarify.

also, optical is for up to 7.1 sound... so it wouldnt make sense to use optical for stereo speakers on your tv tongue.gif

What Kramer said is correct. The third color for component is Red so you would plug in the Blue, Green and Red component cables, and the Red and White audio cables.
