You'd be better off just getting a very good quality 720p native screen than an average 1080p screen.
Use it for a few years and pick up a decent 1080p screen for a fraction of the price.

1080p is only really neccessary on 40" plus screens and will onyl be of real use if you plan on watching lots of HD-DVDs/ Blue Ray movies.

Not many games are likely to be 1080p as it requires a fair bit more spare power to run than 720p does, hence why only the crappy looking games are 1080p.

DVI is just as unlikely as HDMI (its actually the same signal), VGA is your best bet if you get a Tv that happily supports it.

Also this way you get 2 steps in quality instead of one wink.gif

honestly, i think that 720p is the way to go. 1080 is still a waste of time and money at this stage
