360 With Vga Cable Problem!
« on: November 11, 2006, 06:08:00 PM »

I recently purchased a 360 with the MS HD VGA cable so I can hook it up to my 19" LCD monitor. Monitor Info and the problem is that the XBOX doesn't support my monitor's native resolution of 1440x900. I figured I would match it as close as possible and choose the 1360x768 (I think that's what it is) resolution. It switches and I choose to accept the settings, but when I check the info via the monitor is displays the current reso as 1024x768 at 60 hertz. So even though I have it set higher, the monitor says it's not. Is this just an issue with the monitor not being compatible with that resolution? It seems the highest widescreen resolution I can get it to use besides the 1440x900 which I can't get, is 1280x720 for 720P. The image is great, so it's not a major problem I just wanted to make sure that this is what the problem was, also, does anyone think they'll add support for more resolutions in the future? Thanks in advance!
