Hdtv Dvd Playacbk Problem

When my Xbox 360 is in TV mode, DVDs playback in widescreen as they're supposed to.

When I'm using any HDTV mode, the DVD only plays back in 4:3 (cramped up 16:9 image). Does anyone know how I can fix this?
