I am planning on buying the Logitech x-530 5.1 computer speakers.
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16836121126 I have the X-230 model of these which I love. But I want to experience TRUE surround sound through my Xbox 360. The problem that I have is that the x-530's do not have any digital options. they are only analogue front, rear, sub/center separate plug-ins. I want to know of a cheap way less than 50USD to make these speakers have true 5.1. Here are my options that I can think of.
1. Buy a sound card with optical input or coaxial input (I can use an optical to coaxial converter... Right?) and hook my VGA Xbox Optical cable to the sound card. Then have my computer decode it to DD 5.1, and output to the X-530s in separate channels. I have not read about that, but it seems logical to me. ( I have onboard5.1.)
2. Buy a Decoder like the Creative DDTS 100
http://www.creative....mp;product=9468Except that is way out of my price range. (I have enough money, but not enough desire to spend XXX$ on surround sound.
I would like to do the first one, does it seem logical? Thank you for helping if you do.
