Allright...this is insane.

When I boot the 360 after it has sat idle for an hour or so, it won't output any audio/video when the cable is set to HDTV.

It WILL output in SDTV.  Then, if I unplug the A/V, flip the switch back to HD, it will then boot with the HD signal and with audio.

If I reboot it after it has warmed, it does OK.

There haven't been any freezes, any ROL flashing, no error codes either.

Console was MFR'd in April '06.  Not modded, and it has been doing this since before the fall update.  It also is not the cable.  It was doing this with the original cable, and I bought a new one with the same result.

Any ideas?  Cause I'm out of them, and I don't know enough about the A/V output hardware to go any further.

Just a little update...I think I have it figured.
It will output in SD any time.  When cold, it won't output in HD.  BUT, let it warm-up for a couple of minutes, and restart it and it does HD just fine.  My guess is that the hot air gun trick will take care of it.
