QUOTE(EvilJon @ Nov 2 2006, 10:12 AM) View Post

Hi my PC monitor has just given up the ghost, so I figured that I might as well get myself a TFT and a VGA cable for the 360 so I can experience all the luuvveerly hi-def I have been missing out on with my TV.

I'm looking to get a monitor from PC World Also for the cabling am I better off with :-

MAD CATZ VGA CABLE
MICROSOFT VGA HD CABLE
or a different cable (is there a DVI cable available?)

Any advice will be greatfully received.

Jon

TFT is a type of monitor (the flatscreens) whilst the other option is the old CRTs, and both use VGA or DVI connections.

PC World doesnt have a huge range of monitors, and alot of them suck, if you check instore they always have different stuff to the site, so check the store, they might have something better.  Here's a monitor that i like, used and was satisfied with. (until i decided id rather use it on my pc...) [If the pc world link 'expires' like it sometimes does search the site for 'HEWLETT PACKARD W19']

As for the cable, either the Madcatz or MS one will do. (Some people swear by Madcatz stuff, i don't see the difference, and the MS cable is fine) And as for the DVI cable, no. If you have a monitor that handles DVI-A then you could always use a VGA to DVI adapter, not that it'll make the image any better.

Thanks for the advice, I went with the SAMSUNG 205 BW and I have to say it works really well, it has a DVI-D input which I have attatched to the PC, and a VGA connector attatched to the XBox, then all I had to do was set it to manual switching and I could go from X-Box to PC at the touch of a switch ohmy.gif)

Dead rising looks great on the monitor (I can actually read the text messages), and as a PC Monitor I can have two documents open next to each other.
