Joytech Introduce the Next Generation of Control for Xbox 360
« on: October 19, 2006, 08:31:00 AM »

I have a controler centre 2 and its an awesome peice of kit, it has one flaw however.

It will only output the same type as its receiving input from.

e.g input on composite it will ONLY output composite, input on scart it will ONLY output on scart. if they have added a convertng feature so i can output on component regardless on input then ill pick one up.

I already have the Pelican version of this.  Paid 90 for it I believe though.  This does have a few more ethernet links and optical ports however, but if you're looking for a great switch box, these are the way to go - I have a pretty complicated set up with my TV, Stereo Amp, consoles, DVD player and so forth, so I picked up a Harmony Remote along with one of these and now all my wife has to do is touch a button and everything is switched on automatically - we used to have all manual switches (alot cheaper) but I have to say that these remote controlled ones are deffinately the way to go smile.gif

So kudos for another choice in the mix biggrin.gif

Oh damn!
The title totally threw me off!
It sounded like a new game pad from Joytech.

Anyways, this sounds nice and all but where is the support for HDMI?
M$ is already hinting at HDMI support for the X360....

There's no HDMI. This was announced last November for a Dec (2005) release, then Jan, Feb etc
I even had an email from them saying it would definately be here in April. hoho.
So I'm sure it will be delayed again.
Still it looks nice.

I thought this was old news. I think i saw an ad for it in the OXM or something. Its been around for a while.

Seems pretty cool, but to me its unncessary, and a bit overpriced i guess

Ive been needing to buy one of these. My tv only has 2 sets of component inputs, and those are taken up by the 360 and xbox, need one more for the ps2.

Oh they were so close at creating a perfect switcher box and just stopped before doing it right. All it needed was auto-switching capabilities. Last thing I need or want is another remote or button to push. Especially since this is being marketed to the demographic that will fill up every single port on the back of that. The tech is out there, but they just need to get off their collective arses and just implement that one feature and that unit would be perfect. That can increase the price by an extra $50 for all I care. They already hit the high-end market when they went above $100.

I will be picking one of these up (and promptly painting it black).

I have an older Joytech switch and it has been excellent for standard def, but high def on these active switches has been a bit of a tall order (Pelican too).

Oh and don't anyone confuse the Intec switch with this one. Its been on the market for a while and it is a pile of junk and pretty much a ripoff of the concept of this Joytech switch which has been in concept stage for over a year now.
