Xbox 360 Scrambled Display
« on: October 15, 2006, 05:45:00 PM »

Sorry for the double post but I have something new to report on my problem.

I still have audio and can hear the system bootup and find my xbox live account.  But no video on either the component or the composite cable. I've also tried it on both switch settings....HD and TV.

No red lights, nothing out of the ordinary except no video on screen. This seems strange to me that part of the cable works but the video side doesn't work at all.  I would have figured the whole cable would have stopped at the same time.

Maybe that's all it is is the cable went bad and that caused the scrambled colors. But then why would it work when it first booted up and then go bad.....now it doesn't work at all.

Still it seems like everyone else who's had this problem had the red lights and error codes....I haven't had either.

Strange..

try it on another TV, if same call micro$oft, maybe the video encoder is busted or cable is faulty.

Sounds like either your GPU or your Encoder is cooked, possibly the cables as well

Does it look like this: http://pictures.xbox...puglitch/01.jpg
^That is what the GPU starts doing when it's cooked. Otherwise I'd say it's probably either the encoder or the cable.

Try borrowing a different cable from a friend and if that doesn't work...

Call MS and send it in for repair  sad.gif
