still looks 10x better than the original xbox. HDTV's make it even sharper and clearer, but it will still look really nice on a regular tv.

Don't know how it looks on SDTV, but sure does look damn sweet ona 50" plasma lol. Did you get an HDTV or is it EDTV? ED will look good even it's only shows 480p resolution. You'll get the most bang for your buck with a tv that displays HD formats, 720p to 1080p. EDTV will support HD formats but all downscaled to 480p. Still a good picture, but not as sharp as it can be.

SDTV's work a bit different to HDTV's tho. An older TV, although still using Scart to 360, may have a far poorer image than a brand new one. For an example my crappy old Mitsubishi TV in my room doesnt look half as good as on my mates newer Toshiba SDTV.

The resolution of a SDTV is very hard to judge, but a good new SD will probably give you a resolution of 640 x 480 (ish).  biggrin.gif

you suck grim omfg. j/k. im cheap for starters, as if you couldnt tell. so i have my sights set on 30" widescreen flat screen (not flat panel) that supports the 360's native resolution of 720p (no up or downscaling). havent found one but google is king. i cant have a big ass T.V. (ala gimpy 50" geez) it'll hurt my head trying to see the whole thing in halo2.

oh yeah ginpy dont you have to worry about burn in on that plasma. screw that

I've taken my 360 on business trips and have been forced to use it on a crappy 20inch hotel TV in 50hz with a composite cable and it still looks lovely.

Not as lovely as in HD, but still damn lovely.
