Can Someone Please Post A Screenshot 1360x768vga

I have tried 2 different xbox360's. 3 different brands of TV's (Samsung,Sony,Panasonic) and 2 different brands of VGA cable.

I guess I have come to conclusion that running the xbox at 1360x768 on a 1366x768 TV is washed out and blurry, and am confident that I have isolated the fault back to the xbox 360 inherent design.

Yet plenty of peeps continue to argue that VGA is better than 720p,

Could someone post some pics to prove this, as based on my exhaustive testing over the last 2 weeks I can't see how it is possible.

Cheers   blink.gif (i think it's important to clarify WTF is going on so others don't waste money on a VGA cable thats significantly worse than component 720p/1080i).

IMO component video is better then VGA when using a 360... many have argued with me but that's always been my opinion.

I was told that an update or two ago they improved the VGA support dramatically but I've never seen it since then so I can't pass judgement.

Sure on a purely generic tecnical sense VGA SHOULD be better then Component but in my experience with the 360 Component has always looked much much better to me.

I use my 360 with a TFT monitor (VGA cable) and I have to say im very impressed with the quality at 1360x768. theoretically there should be little to no difference between the two cables, it is far more about the quality of the display at the other end (aka the Sony TV / Acer Monitor).

You say component seems more blurry, are you sure youve configured the different TV's correctley (a lot of TV's have a sharpness slider in there menu, as well as other features that may affect the image quality)?

IMO VGA + a decent projecter is where its at  biggrin.gif.

I think VGA looks better, but others say component looks better.  If possible, try to find a comparison IRL.  If that cannot be done, I don't know.  Go with your instincts.

And it does depend on the television, even if you've tried three brands.  Some specific models within a brand's line of television's are horrible at scaling the 1360 to 1366, and a rare few (read: usually much more expensive) are good at it.  I guess I've experienced it with the "rare few".    Just because a television says "Sony" doesn't mean it's quality, or that it's even made by Sony.  Hell, a cheap Samsung can be worse than a mid-range Hitachi.

I use VGA on both a Dell 2007WFP and a 2407WFP.

I play my 360 on THIS monitor with VGA at 1280x1024 widescreen and it looks AWESOME, i cannot play my 360 on anything else.  I tried playing it at the 1366 resolution or whatever but to my eyes it just didnt look as good as 1280x1024.

^^^ don't you get a stretched image since the monitor is 16:10?

I agree, 1280x1024 widescreen is definitely the way to go, atleast until we have 1920x1080 as an option...

I use my 360 on a Dell 2007WFP, which is a 16:10.  I don't really notice any distortion in games, and in movies it seems to put small black bars on the top and bottom to fix the image to a 16:9 (with VGA).
