Well, put simply, I always wanted to get a decent sound system for xbox360 and some movie watching, but I haven't yet because of the cost. I plan on buying a projector too later on so it will be great with that too.
Anyway, an opportunity has risen, and I can get the Logitech Z-5500 speaker system for just 170 euros. I have heard this system before and as far as performance is concerned I am perfectly happy with it, the only problem is that it retails for 350 euros here....which is not much for a peaker system, but it is enough to make me hold on in case i need something better to go with the PJ... But at 170e I would be happy to get it now , have fun with it and if i need something better it can always move to the bedroom.....170 is not as much of a loss as 350 is...
Now the catch.....well, it costs only 170 because I was told the digital inputs don't work....and as far as I understand, this can be everything or nothing depending on your equipment. As far as I understand if you can output your 5.1 through analog outputs you are good to go....if not you are screwed....
So my question is....can I use this system with Xbox360 and get 5.1 sound from the analog inputs?
I am not so into sound, as far as I know, the Coaxial and Optical inputs/outputs are for digital sound, and the white+red RCA inputs/outputs are just for stereo analog sound. But I heard you can do 5.1 with analog....I don't know though is xbox360 has a way to do it....
