Well I cant speak from experience as I only have the MS VGA adaptor, but usually the quality of those after-market brands is slightly lower. Just my 2 cents

I had pelican component cable, and the optical port didn't work. Just fork over the money and get the MS cables.

Are those important? You don't really need the RCA converter unless you are using a regular TV, correct? I don't know what a gender changer so I can't say anything about that

yeah important for some (i didn't need them),

Gender changer looks something like this, one side male other is female. Most newer monitors, specially LCDs don't need them. If you monitor has VGA "in" then you don't.

RCA converter looks something like this. If your speaker only have a headphone slot then you'll need this.

I have the M$ one and it works great. What I was surprised about was how easy it was to setup. All I did was plug everything in and then the screen came right up and I could tweak the settings right away. I haven't had any problems as of yet. Just fork over the $40 for the M$ cable.
