« on: August 21, 2006, 04:44:00 PM »

I just turned on my xbox 360 today. Played some battlefiled 2... and all of a sudden my screen goes all GREEN!!!!!...  The dashboard, some inscreen hud are displaying properly. But all the graphics are very bright green.

WHAT IS WRONG??

I turned it off and turn it on.. and got a E74 error... so i unplugged the A/V cable plugged it back in and everything seemed to back to normal ... booted the game... .worked fine for 5 min.. and BOOM GREEN SCREEN AGAIN!!!

so what is wrong... the A/V cable is busted or is my 360 encoder busted...

 PLZ HELP ME OUT!! thx

No the power bar nor the xbox 360  nor the disc inside don't overheat. Everything seem to be running smooth. And I should know because Ive had an overheating 360 b4 this replacement unit.

After straightening out the cable by the 360 slot, it runs perfectly now. seemed like it might be the cable. but i simply found it weird. that the dashboard/ in game HUD/ videos where displayed perfect.. but when the green screen occurs it only affected the 3d rendered part of the game / and the popup messages. it wasn't as much as everything was rendered in green, as there was a green overlay over the 3d rendering (flat green, fluorescent) kind of like my sig

hope fully the issue won't come back, otherwise i will try replacing the cable.

are there an processing circuitry inside the cable itself?

There is some at least for the switch to determine whether HDTV or SDTV is selected. That is if you have a component cable.

something like that happened to me. I cantact MS and they said to unplug everything then start again. It only happened once, and so far I haven't had any other problems.

now that you mention it, it happened to me during a session of Battlefield as well.

hmm

same thing happend to me, problem was out of the 3 component cables, the red one was in correctly and the blue/green ones were in the others spot... so it made the screen look green/gray.. just swapped them back to the inputs they were sposed to be in and it was gold..
