Halo 2 And 16:9 - How To?
« on: August 20, 2006, 03:28:00 PM »

QUOTE(ThrustinJ @ Aug 20 2006, 02:20 PM) View Post
I'm trying to get my 360 to play Halo 2 widescreen, just like I used to play on my Xbox.

But of course, there is no setting on the hardware to do this like the old Xbox.

Can anyone help me out?

There is a hardware setting for 16:9.

What type of TV/cables do you have?

I've got the 360 premium package. I'm running the hd cables that came with it.

I just looked at it again. It looks like it is running in 16:9 (not stretched), but all the HUD items are kind of stretched. The enemies and guns all look fine.

Everything is as it should be then. Bungie is to blame for not implementing a proper 16:9 HUD. This was a problem that has been with the game since day 1.

Not to mention FOV, overscan, bla bla.  Hope we get 5.1 with Halo 3 lol.

^^^ Well, it's kind of 5.1, kind of not.  Only scripted voice clips come from the center channel.  Most of the time it's just 4.1 (Left, Right, Rear left, Rear right channels)  atleast that's the way it seems with my setup.
