Hd Componet Use Question

If it has component I would guess it has 480p capability.  You wouldn't be able to get anything higher than that though, as that would then be High Definition.

As far as I can tell from what little information I've been able to find as far as resolution goes, the tv is only NTSC compatible, which I guess means it's 480i, not 480p.

I don't think you'd really notice a difference between s-video and component though, since s-video is also 480i.  You could try buying the cables from a local retailer and then returning them if you don't like them, that's what I'm planning on doing with a VGA cable pretty soon...

I would be careful with that TV though.  All the reviews I saw said that TV always brakes within a year. blink.gif

yeah, I've seen those rviews too...I've had this tv for about 2 years now.  Knock on wood, it's never given me any trouble.  I might find someone who has the cables and borrow them, and if I like them then go get a set.

Or, I could just set it up in the living room  ph34r.gif.  The wife wouldn't like it...but she'll get over it  laugh.gif

oh yeah... i went and bought one from bestbuy (VGA cable) while i waited for my cheaper one to ship from walmart.com, had it about a week, and returned the mangled package saying it just didnt work out.

circuitcity has a no hassle return policy also... no worries, at least none that i see.

also, target has a great return policy.. ive returned psps and 360s with no hassle, as long as you keep the reciept.
