Although Microsoft has not officially announced it, they WILL be introducing a new Xbox 360 later this year. With that is includes:
-Digital Out port, including DVI,HDMI, and all the rest of them.
-Built in HD-DVD drive
-New 65mm processor cores, providing the same 3 core power but producing much less heat and more energy efficient.
-120GB or higher 2.5' HDD
-IPTV to stream over content through the console
Microsoft is also pushing many things with the online TV concept and also pushing for new controllers, "he" wouldn't tell me everything about the controllers, but just hold your money before you buy any more.
As for the rest of us with the standard consoles, unless you have a 1080p TV or still haven't cracked open your console, this really doesn't effect you unless you just bought it. As for me I've got a 160GB 3.5' HDD duct taped to the top of my console, along with 5 fans to keep the damn console cool, so yes I'll miss an HD-DVD drive and digital out, but for my 1980 20' (dunno if its even 480i, did they ever make 320i?) Toshiba TV, these new specs really wouldn't help me, so don't fuss over it.
BTW, all of this information is from a guy who works for Microsoft, so unless they change something I can almost guarantee most of this is true.
i feel so ripped off
