I got my switch wired up, case closed. Everything works fine. For anybody else who wants to do this, here's a quick wiring diagram to go by. Where you see pins circled, I'd recommend twisting the two wires you run from there around each other(for an easier time, and better results). G0tM4xx said it cuts down interference, so I assume they substitute a coil. The type of switch I used is a small 3 direction switch from Radio Shack (you've got questions, so do they). Way it works is top is VGA mode, bottom is Composite mode, and middle uses the MS A/V port (since I bought the HDTV cable, I'd assume just use it).
*** Also, ignore the YCR circle. I was originally going to put Component plugs on my box as well, but decided to simply keep the port (which will let the cable set the jumper for you). ***

The audio is completely optional. If you want an optical audio port (the light blue circle), it's fairly easy to wire. Twist the wires for this as well. If you're running multi audio outputs (like mine) where you want phono jacks (stereo), optical, and a headphone jack, keep the optical wires to just the optical port, but you can run one set of left channel and one set of right channel wires, and jumper the ports to headphone jack.
