Should I Get A Hdtv?

I guess they need to change the policy. Better yet, check if the tv actually has a problem. It's nobodys fault but Costco's, for being dumb and their employee's being lazy.

Dumb!? You're fgn' joking right. (not a question)

Costco's return policy directly displays their confidence in the products they sell. It's this assurance that brings in customers and keeps prices down. Very few retailers offer this to their customers. Don't advocate something that will fuk it up for the honest people.

Imagine how lame it would be if they had a tech. right there at the cs desk to check the tv from top to bottom for problems.

Can't afford to upgrade your TV each year/every other? Pfft.

Vol- Costco does have some good deals on nice TV's. I think I saw a 26" plasma for ~$600 the other day.

Guess what, I pay my membership and will be doing what I like(especially since costco has no problem with it).  I have done this once(on a legit return), but might be doing it again just for wreck. If you don't like it, then that's tuff shit. Also, it would not be lame if they had a tech guy checking the tv's. Why do you say it would be, if you're not doing this kind of "low life stuff" dry.gif  If you're return is legit, then whats the problem.

Plasma for $600?? Good Luck! You obviously don't need to upgrade your tv, if you can't tell what you're looking at. Plasma only comes in 42"+(if i'm not mistaken)

Someone needs not to give advice on a audio/video forum when they can't tell difference between LCD and plasma.

Sorry bro, I was just giving you the Costco option. Just buy the tv locally, and if you don't like it just return it. I have never used Toshiba brand, so I can't tell you if it's good.

It's ok, thanks for helping though and giving me a tip about return policy.

Costco does have a problem with it and it is a concern I see them address nearly every time I'm leaving. I see more and more people getting rejected because "...this is the fourth TV (or other expensive item) you've returned this year, you are abusing the return policy". I'm in an affluent area, I could only imagine how bad it is elsewhere.

Mis-typed on the "plasma". Was also thinking of the 50" Philips that was there.

...and I don't need to upgrade at the moment. 50" plasma in the bedroom, 32" LCD in my son's room, and a 60" SXRD in the living room. Good for now, thanks.

Toshiba's are a good set, but it's my personal opinion that you can get better quality at a comparable price.

Happy hunting.

Although I can't vouch for the 32" Daytek, the 40" is serving me well. Perhaps the best feature of the 32" is the built-in light sensor, which delivers excellent picture quality at any ambiant light level. You can get some decent blacks on this type of LCD because the bulb brightness is turned down in the dark.

One complaint about this however is that the LCD looks too dark, which I can understand, most people are use to torch mode on display devices. In Oblivion you might need to buy night-eye for characters, or you can just leave the TV in torch mode.

The one issue with the 40" is that the composite in's are all lagged due to the heavy filtering. If you have composite in's that use an external audio device, such as a receiver, then you may have problems with the 32" if it behaves the same way.

Toshiba 32WLT66 is the mutts nuts. I have installed a few of these now and my brother just bought one.
My 360 looks excellent through it. He has a Toshiba DVD with HDMI (upscales to 720p) and the picture is still a big improvement over a SDTV. Surprisingly the Audio is also very good (LCD normally has poor audio due to cabinet design limitations) but I still prefer the seperate Home Theatre set up I have.

well guys, I just bought a Samsung 30" crt hdtv widescreen for 450 candian. I'm happy with my choice, it does 1080i/480p. Speaking of witch, can I play a dvd movie in full highdefinition on my 360? The thing that pisses me off is that Amazon and both Walmart displayed that this certain tv plays 720p witch it doesn't... Should I complain?

CRT HD tv's don't suck big time. Their better than lcds that are cheaper than 1000 dollars. Crt's have no response time when lcd does, crt displays good black colours witch lcd's don't and their cheaper than lcd. The only thing that lcd are really better than crts are the size, witch i don't care. Anyhow, i really like my hdtv. I just upgraded from a Toshiba 27" flat screen tv so I can spot normal differences but not that much.

I play on a 37" 1080p LCD, and I would never play 360 in SD, ever.  Many people prefer LCD's/Plasmas/DLP's, some prefer CRT's.  I guess it comes down to if you want progressive scan (720p, LCD/Plasma/DLP) or are fine with interlaced (1080i) and want better black levels/pixel response time (i guess that doesn't really apply to plasmas though...).
