Choosing An Lcd For 360
« on: April 01, 2006, 01:39:00 AM »

Whats up..any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Ive been saving for an HD LCD for my 360 and i almost have enough to purchase one, here is what I've been looking at:

Maxent 26" MX-26X3

Samsung 23" LN-R237W

Orginally I had been saving w/ the Samsung in mind. but I came across the Maxent and it seems to be pretty well rated also. both are about $650 on ebay.

couple things i need help with:
1.Im not sure what the response time for the Maxtent is, that could be a deciding factor if its too slow.
2.Maxent has a 800:1 contrast ratio, how is that going to fair against the Sammy's 3000:1?
3. Your overall take on either of the LCDs.

Im also open to other suggestions on LCDs around 600-700 bucks, id like 23" or above though.

Ok Im done! Thanks biggrin.gif

The Maxtent has a 12ms response time.   Do you plan on using this in a dorm room or something?  Because a 23" widescreen TV is pretty small.  If it was in 4:3 ratio, it would be the equivalent of a 17" computer monitor.   If I was in your situation ($700 to spend) I would go to CC or BB and try and purchase a floor model 32".  I'm sure you could get a 32" polaroid for around $700.

thats true, i'll have to check out some stores near me and see what they have open box.

im really liking the idea of a projector. i think i'll check that out and if im not happy, sell it and go back to the orginal idea of an LCD.
