Question For All Hdtv Owners
« on: March 14, 2006, 04:48:00 PM »

Even with an HD box only HD channels will be in HD (of course). There are few, but they look fgn' amazing. I especially like INHD because of the boxing and mma.

Standard def looked ok on this TV (had it for ~9 mos., got rid of it), but a little choppy. Standard looks even better on a Sony SXRD than it does on a small standard tv.

I don't think it will make a difference on a 32".

Quite correct.  480i TV will look much worse on an LCD HDTV, because of native resolution, then on a CRT HDTV

Then you'll probably be waiting for over 2 yrs before SED technology becomes common and resonably priced, unfortunately.

Even if you want a good HDTV, you'll have to spend at least $1500 to $2000.  If you cannot afford that, then i'd would recommend sticking with a good 480i only TV; a good sony trinitron for example.  Or......get a good pc monitor and use it for all your High definition 360 and movie watching goodness.

You're so right!

After looking around at SED's I realized I'd be waiting a while before the prices come down.
Not to mention the fact that there's always risk involved with new technology.

Lol... yeah, you'd be waitin' at LEAST a year before one comes out.  But I wouldn't call it new. It was first anounced and shown off, I think, 2 yrs ago. They had said it was gunna come out at the end of 2005... then 2006.... now they say the beginning of '07. So I'm sure that when it comes out, it'll be good and ready (although that could juss be wishful thinking, lol)
